Samta Sagar has made a place for herself in the hearts of television audiences with her sweet, endearing persona. The manner in which Vihaan connects with each of his seven mothers is depicted beautifully and make for an interesting watch for the viewers.” Every mother-in-law in the show has different characteristics, they represent the vibrant cultural canvas of India, hailing from different regions. She is not outright comical, however owing to her forgetful nature, she ends up creating situations which will bring a smile to everyone’s faces. The other reason being that my character was not of a stereotypical Punjabi one usually has in mind. The reason I accepted the role was first and foremost the concept of seven mothers-in-law in a household seemed quite different from the average, run-of-the-mill fare one typically samples on television.

Sharing her excitement about her character in the new show, Bhavana said, “I am playing the character of a spunky, full of life Punjabi woman who is the youngest daughter-in-law of Dadima (Farida Jalal) and Chachi Maa of the male lead Vihaan. Known to portray a variety of roles on television, in films and theatre, Bhavana has won viewers’ love and appreciation overs the years with her body of work. In sharp contrast, Samta Sagar will be seen playing a Bengali woman who is the most emotional one amongst all the mothers-in-law in the house & will sport traditional Bengali attire in the show. Her forgetful nature will provide many a comic situation that will bring a smile to people’s faces. Her character is still living with the hope that her husband will return someday. Essaying the role of a playful Punjabi woman, who is full of life even though she has been left by her husband, Bhavana is gearing up to play this fun character with a twist. Playing mothers-in-law to the leading lady Aarushi (Mugdha Chapekar), Bhavana Balsaver and Samta Sagar are the Chachi Maa & Tai Maa to the hero Vihaan (Ravish Desai) respectively.
